Four traders from Ghaziabad, en route to Khatu Shyamji, were engulfed in the flames of a truck carrying chemicals in Rewari. Two traders died in the accident, while two others sustained severe burns.
Ghaziabad: The journey for four traders from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, turned into a tragedy at Banepur Chowk in Rewari. Around 1 AM on Monday night, a truck filled with chemicals suddenly caught fire, and the Creta car coming from behind was caught in the blaze. Two traders, Ashu and Monu, died on the spot in the accident, while Sumit and Rishi were critically injured.
Chaos Ensued Due to Intense Fire in the Accident
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire spread so rapidly that both the tanker and the car were engulfed in flames within moments. Panic erupted among the people present at the scene. They immediately informed the police and the fire department.
Locals present at the scene attempted to douse the flames, but they faced considerable difficulty in rescue operations due to the chemical leakage and the intensity of the fire. Fearing for their safety, travelers on the road also fled to safer locations due to the fire.
Traders Critically Injured in the Accident
Four traders from Turab Nagar market in Ghaziabad—Ashu, Monu, Sumit, and Rishi—were on their way to visit Khatu Shyam Ji. All the traders were in their vehicle at the time of the accident. Due to the sudden fire in the truck and the car getting trapped in it, Ashu and Monu died on the spot.
Sumit and Rishi were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital. According to doctors, both are in critical condition and are undergoing treatment. There is an atmosphere of grief and fear among the families and locals following the accident.
Cause of the Accident
According to information, the truck carrying chemicals, which was coming from the Jaipur side, caught fire after it collided with the divider and overturned. The fire spread rapidly due to the leakage of chemical substances from the truck, posing a serious threat to vehicles moving ahead and behind on the road.
At the time of the accident, the car was caught in the same fire and was engulfed in flames within moments. The fire department was called to extinguish the blaze, and they controlled it after reaching the scene.
Following the accident, the police and local administration immediately closed the road and admitted the injured to a nearby hospital. Police officials stated that strict actions would be taken to ensure the safety of the truck and car drivers and to monitor vehicles carrying chemicals.
Experts say that transporting chemical substances in road accidents is extremely risky. The administration should implement strict regulations to ensure the safety of such vehicles to prevent loss of life and property in future incidents.
