Ukraine's Strikes Trigger Fuel Crisis in Russia, Zelenskyy Reports Significant Gasoline Losses

After missile and drone attacks by Ukraine, Russia is facing a fuel crisis. According to Zelenskyy, Russia has lost 20% of its gasoline supply and has had to increase foreign imports.

Kyiv. Amidst the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently made a significant claim. According to him, Russia has lost approximately 20 percent of its gasoline supply following recent missile and drone attacks carried out by Ukraine. Zelenskyy also stated that Russia is facing fuel and gas shortages due to new weaponry and strategic strikes.

Impact on Russia's Supply Chain

Zelenskyy informed that Ukraine targeted Russia's oil storage facilities and gas depots in recent attacks. These strikes have directly impacted Russia's supply chain. The President stated that Russia's occupation plans in the eastern Donetsk region have been thwarted by Ukrainian counter-attacks. He mentioned that Ukrainian missiles have destroyed dozens of Russian military bases.

Specifically, Zelenskyy mentioned a missile drone named 'Ruta,' which attacked a Russian oil facility located 250 kilometers away. He described this attack as a "major success for the new weapon" and a significant achievement in Ukraine's strategy.

Ukraine's Counter-attacks

Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian counter-attacks are proving effective. He explained that fuel shortages and increased foreign imports in Russia indicate the success of these attacks. Zelenskyy said at a press conference that Russia is now forced to import gasoline, which is a worrying sign for them.

According to Ukrainian intelligence reports, Russia has increased gas imports from Belarus sixfold, and the tariffs on these imports have been removed. Additionally, Russia is also importing fuel from China. This move highlights Russia's domestic energy crisis and validates the effectiveness of Ukraine's strategy.

Ukraine's New Weapons

Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has recently developed long-range missiles and drones capable of precise attacks on strategic targets. With the help of these new weapons, Ukraine has disrupted Russia's supply chain by targeting Russian oil and gas facilities.

According to him, these attacks have not only weakened Russia's fuel storage and distribution network but have also impacted Russia's military planning. Ukrainian drones and missiles have damaged Russian troops and military bases, affecting their military strategy.
