United Spirits is considering selling its stake in its IPL team, RCB. The success of the team's men's and women's squads creates an attractive opportunity for investors. The company is planning for a valuation of $2 billion.
RCB Share: United Spirits is considering selling its stake in its IPL team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The company announced on November 5 that it would conduct a strategic review of its investment in its subsidiary, Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (RCSPL). This is the same company that owns RCB's men's and women's teams, which compete annually in the IPL and WPL tournaments organized by the BCCI. Following this decision, the company's shares initially saw an upward trend.
Diageo's Target
According to reports, Diageo, the parent company of RCB, is seeking a valuation of approximately $2 billion, or ₹16,700 crore, for selling its stake in its IPL team. This move is considered strategically significant for the company because RCB's men's team is the current IPL champion and the women's team won the WPL title last year. The team's popularity and performance in tournaments make it an attractive opportunity in the eyes of investors.
Share Market Reaction
According to the company's financial results, United Spirits reported a profit of ₹464 crore in the September 2025 quarter, marking a 36.1 percent increase. Total sales (net sales) also rose by 11.6 percent to ₹3,173 crore. Despite the financial strength, profit-booking was observed in the stock market after an initial surge. Around 10:15 AM, shares were trading at ₹1,428, down by 1.5 percent.
Potential Share Direction
Currently, United Spirits' share price is ₹1,429. According to technical charts, the potential target for the share is set at ₹1,825, with an upside potential of approximately 27.7 percent. Currently, levels of ₹1,428, ₹1,392, and ₹1,364 could act as support levels. Resistance levels are located at ₹1,465, ₹1,500, ₹1,600, and ₹1,740.
On October 31, the share showed signs of an uptrend, after which the price remained somewhat stable (sideways). If the share remains above ₹1,428, the uptrend could continue. However, if this level is broken, the levels of ₹1,392 and ₹1,364 will provide significant support. Conversely, if the share breaks out above ₹1,465, it could see a renewed surge. In this scenario, the share could reach ₹1,825, although it may face resistance at ₹1,500, ₹1,600, and ₹1,740 along the way.
RCB's Popularity
The current performance of RCB's men's team in the IPL and the women's team's WPL title make it attractive to investors. The team's brand value, performance in tournaments, and fan base influence the company's share value and the value of its stake. According to experts, the sale of a stake in RCB offers a potential return of up to 28 percent for investors.
Potential Returns on Shares
Experts believe that United Spirits' shares could reach ₹1,825. Investors are advised to make their investment decisions considering the share's technical charts and the company's financial performance. Investors should also note that the share may experience volatility due to the stake sale and strategic review.
