UP TGT-PGT Exam Update: Discontent is growing among candidates due to the continuous changes being made by the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission regarding the TGT-PGT recruitment exam and the B.Ed Assistant Professor recruitment. First, the exam dates were changed multiple times, and now the revised advertisement for the B.Ed subject Assistant Professor recruitment has also been cancelled. This decision has caused deep disappointment among the candidates.
Why was the B.Ed Assistant Professor Recruitment Advertisement Cancelled?
The Education Services Selection Commission had issued a revised advertisement on May 23, 2025, for the recruitment of Assistant Professors in B.Ed subject in aided colleges. This advertisement was initially released in July 2022 for a total of 1017 posts across 34 subjects, which included 107 posts for the B.Ed subject. However, due to a dispute over the educational qualification for the B.Ed subject, the matter reached the High Court.
The High Court gave clear instructions that a separate advertisement should be issued for the B.Ed subject. Following this, the Commission conducted the examination for other subjects on April 16 and 17, but the process for B.Ed remained pending. Now, the Commission has decided that a new advertisement will be issued only after revising the educational qualification according to the NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) Regulations-2014.
TGT-PGT Exam Repeatedly Postponed
Along with the B.Ed recruitment, the situation regarding the TGT-PGT recruitment exam is also entangled. The Commission announced the exam date three times for the Lecturer Cadre (PGT) and Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) Recruitment-2022 of secondary schools, but each time the event was postponed. This has created a state of confusion among the candidates.
Now, the Commission says that the new dates will be announced soon and the examination will be conducted smoothly. However, repeated delays are weakening the confidence of the candidates and they are questioning the transparency of the recruitment process.
Reconstruction of E-Requisition Portal and Claims of New Recruitments
On one hand, the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission is reconstructing the e-requisition portal and making claims of preparing for new recruitments, while on the other hand, discontent is increasing among the candidates due to the pending recruitment processes not being completed. The Commission has assured that all recruitment processes will be completed in a transparent and time-bound manner.
When will the new advertisement come?
Now, a new advertisement for the B.Ed subject Assistant Professor recruitment will be issued only when the educational qualification is revised under the NCTE Regulations-2014. The Commission has made it clear that the recruitment process will proceed only in accordance with the revised qualification.
In the meantime, candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website of the Commission so that the application process can be started as soon as the new advertisement is released.
