Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday issued several important directives while reviewing the state's industrial and infrastructural development plans. He stated that the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) would be made the new face of Uttar Pradesh's industrial future.
UP News: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued significant directives for the holistic development of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) region. He stated that an airport, railway station, and multimodal logistics park would be developed in the BIDA area, which would give new impetus to industrial and economic activities in the region.
The Chief Minister said that BIDA would not be limited to Jhansi but would become a new hub for industrial revolution across the entire Bundelkhand region. He also emphasized that Bundelkhand would no longer be synonymous with backwardness but would become a symbol of Uttar Pradesh's progress and self-reliance.
Bundelkhand to become an industrial hub of Aatmanirbhar Bharat
CM Yogi Adityanath stated that Bundelkhand would no longer be identified with backwardness but would become a symbol of Uttar Pradesh's industrial revolution and self-reliance. He instructed officials to complete the land acquisition process in the BIDA region within six months and ensure the appointment of engineers and town planners within the next 15 days.
The Chief Minister said that BIDA would be made an ideal model for "Ease of Doing Business" and employment generation, providing large-scale employment opportunities for local youth.
Plans for Airport and Railway Station in BIDA
CM Yogi directed that suitable land for an airport in the BIDA region be identified soon. He also instructed NHAI to coordinate and expedite work on the plan to extend the Agra–Gwalior Greenfield Expressway to Jhansi/BIDA. Additionally, the Chief Minister stated that a new railway station would be built in the BIDA region under the Delhi–Chennai Fourth Railway Line. This would not only boost industrial activities but also strengthen regional connectivity.
Yogi Adityanath also stated that a node of the Delhi–Nagpur Industrial Corridor should be developed in BIDA, and a multimodal logistics park established there to promote industrial investment in Jhansi and surrounding districts.

New Link Road to connect Bundelkhand Expressway with BIDA
The Chief Minister instructed UPEIDA to expedite the development of a link expressway connecting the Bundelkhand Expressway to BIDA. During the meeting, it was informed that out of a total of 56,662 acres of land for BIDA, 22,028 acres have been acquired so far. A special digital software has been developed to make the land acquisition process transparent, ensuring that the entire process, from farmers' consent to payment, is online. A call center will also be launched next month to assist farmers, which the Chief Minister described as a "highly commendable initiative."
BIDA Master Plan 2045 Ready
BIDA's Master Plan 2045 has received board approval. Under this plan, a total area of 253.33 sq km has been divided into various uses —
- Industrial Area: 35.8%
- Residential Area: 15.2%
- Mixed-Use: 5.1%
- Commercial Area: 1.5%
- Green Area: 10.6%
The Chief Minister stated that zoning and sector planning for all eight sectors should be completed by November 30. He directed that works related to roads, sewage, drainage, solid waste management, and electricity supply be completed in mission mode.
Ganga Expressway to be completed by December 2025
During the meeting, CM Yogi clearly stated that the construction of the Ganga Expressway must be completed by December 2025 at any cost. He said that this expressway would prove to be an industrial backbone connecting the western and eastern parts of the state. The Chief Minister added, "The Ganga Expressway is a b foundation for Uttar Pradesh's economy and industrial future. There should be no compromise on the quality of the project."
During the meeting, several proposals related to the expansion of the Ganga Expressway were discussed — such as the Meerut–Haridwar Link Expressway, Noida–Jewar Link Expressway, Chitrakoot–Rewa Link Expressway, and Vindhya–Purvanchal Link Expressway. The Chief Minister directed the establishment of skill development centers in all nodes of the Defense Industrial Corridor — Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Aligarh, and Chitrakoot.
Through these centers, local youth will receive technical training related to the defense industry, which will boost employment generation and self-reliance. It was informed during the meeting that investment proposals worth ₹30,819 crore have been received for the Defense Corridor so far, and 5,039 acres of land have been acquired.
