UP Homeopathy Director Suspended Amidst Corruption Allegations

The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended Professor Arvind Kumar Verma, Director of the Homeopathy Department, due to serious allegations. Ayush Minister Dayashankar Mishra took this strict action after allegations of irregularities in transfers and postings, lack of dedication to duty, presenting misleading facts, and a lax working style were levied against the Director. As per the order of Principal Secretary, Ayush Section-2, Ranjan Kumar, a departmental and disciplinary inquiry will be initiated against Professor Verma. Following the suspension, he has been attached to the State Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Ghazipur.

Salary Cut During Suspension

Professor Verma's salary will be reduced during his suspension period. According to the order, he will receive a subsistence allowance equal to half salary during this period. If dearness allowance is applicable on the salary, it will also be provided, but those officers who were not previously receiving this benefit will not be eligible. Furthermore, other allowances will only be granted upon ensuring that they are actually being spent and are valid according to the rules.

Yogi Government's Stringent Action Focuses on Transparency and Discipline

This action by the Uttar Pradesh government is considered to be aimed at maintaining transparency and discipline in the administration. Previously, several officers in the Registry Department were also acted upon due to irregularities in transfer and posting cases, including the suspension of the department's Director-General. Such steps further strengthen the Yogi government's administrative reforms, which will curb corruption and negligence.
