UP PET Exam: The Yogi government has taken strict action to prevent cheating during the PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) exam in Uttar Pradesh. 31 solvers were arrested from various districts during the examination. The government and the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission utilized modern technology to make the examination cheating-free and impartial.
This year, over 5 lakh candidates abandoned the examination, while 76.70% of candidates appeared for the exam. AI-based facial recognition, iris scans, and other biometric technologies were employed to apprehend solvers. This technology has reduced the possibilities of cheating to almost zero and ensured the fair conduct of the examination.
31 Solvers Arrested During Examination in Several Districts of the State
Solvers were apprehended during the examination from districts such as Lucknow, Mathura, Varanasi, Kannauj, Ambedkar Nagar, Ayodhya, Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Hapur, Jalaun, Jhansi, Ghaziabad, Ghazipur, Kanpur Nagar, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Saharanpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, and Shahjahanpur.
FIRs have been registered against these 31 solvers in the respective police stations. Information has also been received about the apprehension of a solver from Bihar in Lucknow. Officials stated that security arrangements were further tightened after solvers were caught in several districts on the first day as well.
Technology Enhances Transparency in Examinations
This time, the UP Subordinate Services Selection Commission made special use of technology in the examination. The photograph and iris biometrics of every candidate were captured. Additionally, biometric attendance was mandatory for personnel deployed on examination duty.
Entry to examination centers was granted with metal detectors, mobile jammers, and strict surveillance. Such technologies played a significant role in catching solvers and making the examination transparent. Officials stated that the use of this technology will also help in preventing cheating in future examinations.
Candidates' Preparation and Administration's Efforts
Millions of candidates participated in the PET examination. Candidates faced difficulties due to traveling from far and wide to reach the examination centers. Despite this, the examination was conducted smoothly.
Officials stated that along with the use of technology, trained staff and surveillance teams at the examination centers ensured the examination remained secure and impartial. They appealed to the candidates to follow the rules of the examination and not engage in any unethical activities like cheating.
