DGP Rajeev Krishna stated that Umar Ansari's arrest was based on evidence, and provided information on police activity regarding drones, flood relief, and economic offenses.

UP: The police have once again made it clear that there will be no compromise with law and order in the state. On Monday, at a press conference, Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Krishna, while interacting with the media, presented a detailed outline of the police's active role regarding the arrest of Umar Ansari, drone activities, flood relief efforts, and economic offenses. He stated that every action is being taken in full compliance with legal procedures and based on evidence, and that the guidelines of the High Courts are being fully followed.

Umar Ansari's Arrest: Action Taken Within Legal Framework

Amidst the political stir in the state, the arrest of Umar Ansari has become a significant issue. Responding to this, the DGP said, "This arrest is entirely based on facts and evidence. After an FIR was registered at the relevant police station, an investigation was conducted, and the arrest was made only when sufficient evidence was found. The court's guidelines and judicial process were fully followed." He also stated that the Supreme Court and High Court have given clear instructions regarding maintaining law and order, and the police are working accordingly.

State Police's Active Role in Flood Relief Efforts

Speaking about the flood situation in several districts of the state, the DGP said that relief and rescue operations are underway on a war footing in the flood-affected areas. He informed that so far:

  • 17 companies have been specifically deployed for relief operations.
  • 18 other companies are working in collaboration with NDRF, SDRF, local police, and PAC.
  • Local administration is being provided with all possible cooperation so that assistance can reach the flood-affected citizens as soon as possible.

Rajeev Krishna said, "Our goal is to ensure that not a single person is deprived of relief. Every police officer is working with full dedication in the flood-affected areas."

Strict Monitoring of Drone Activities

In recent weeks, incidents of drones flying at night have been reported in several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, creating an atmosphere of fear and confusion among the public. On this, the DGP said: "Drone activities have been observed in several places in the past 20 days. Some incidents were true, but many were just rumors. The police have so far registered cases in more than 16 instances and strict action has been taken against those spreading rumors."

He appealed to the general public not to believe rumors and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.

EOW's Action on Economic Offenses

The DGP emphasized the importance of the Economic Offenses Wing's (EOW) role in controlling economic offenses in the state. He said that in recent days:

  • Several major economic offenders have been arrested and sent to jail.
  • 9 animated videos and a booklet have been released to create awareness among the public.
  • Special training workshops are also being organized to make officers more efficient.
  • Rajeev Krishna said, "Protecting people from digital fraud and investment scams is our priority."

No Compromise with Law and Order

At the end of the press conference, the DGP stated in unequivocal terms that any attempt to disrupt peace and law and order in the state will not be tolerated. He said: "If any person tries to disrupt public order, action will be taken against them under strict laws like NSA (National Security Act) and the Gangster Act." Rajeev Krishna clarified that whether the matter is political, economic, or communal — the police will act impartially, based on evidence, and in a legal manner.
