US Affirms Unwavering Ties with India and Pakistan Amidst Army Chief's US Visit

The US State Department has stated that America's relations with India and Pakistan cannot be changed. Asim Munir's second visit to the US in two months has created new ripples in regional politics.

Pakistan-US Relations: Pakistan's Army Chief General Asim Munir's recent visit to the United States is once again under discussion. This marks his second American tour in the past two months. Meanwhile, US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce has made a significant statement regarding India-Pakistan relations and the role of the United States. She stated that the United States has deep relations with both India and Pakistan, and these cannot be altered.

Why are Asim Munir's US Visits in the Headlines?

General Asim Munir first visited the United States in June 2025, where he attended a private dinner with President Donald Trump. This meeting was considered diplomatically significant. He recently visited the US for the second time and attended the farewell ceremony for US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael Kurilla. He also congratulated the new commander, Admiral Brad Cooper.

General Kurilla described Pakistan as a "fantastic counter-terrorism partner" in his farewell address, which further enhances the significance of this visit.

The Role of the US in India-Pakistan Tensions

Tammy Bruce told the media that military tensions between India and Pakistan reached a peak for four days in May 2025. The situation could have become even more dire, but the United States immediately intervened diplomatically to try to manage the situation.

According to her, President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke directly with leaders from both India and Pakistan via phone calls and played a crucial role in stopping the attacks.

Bruce described this as a "moment of pride" for the United States because American leadership averted a potentially catastrophic situation and gave both countries the opportunity to sit down together and move towards a solution.

"America's Relations are Deep with Both Countries" – Tammy Bruce

Bruce emphasized that the United States has deep and historical relationships with both India and Pakistan that cannot be changed. She said, "We are committed to working with both countries, as it is beneficial not only for the region but for the entire world."

She mentioned that when India-Pakistan tensions were at their peak, American leadership was closely monitoring the situation and communication was ongoing at every level. This is why it was possible to prevent a conflict.
