Dehradun: Fulfilling another major promise, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs for demobilized Agniveers. On Monday, the Personnel and Vigilance Department officially issued the "Uttarakhand State Uniformed Posts Direct Recruitment Horizontal Reservation Rules-2025" for Group-C services. This step will directly benefit Agniveers in government jobs and honor their service.
10 Percent Reservation for Agniveers
The Personnel and Vigilance Department officially issued the "Uttarakhand State Uniformed Posts Direct Recruitment Horizontal Reservation Rules-2025" for Group-C services. Under these rules, former Agniveers will receive a 10 percent horizontal reservation in the following uniformed posts:
- Police Constable (Civil/PAC)
- Sub-Inspector
- Platoon Commander PAC
- Fireman and Fire Officer Grade-II
- Jail Guard and Deputy Jailer
- Forest Guard and Forester
- Excise and Enforcement Constable
- Secretariat Security Guard
- Tiger Protection Force
Chief Minister Dhami stated, "Former Agniveers, who have served the nation, are the pride of our state. It is our responsibility to provide them with respect and employment opportunities. This decision is a concrete step towards securing their future. Our government is making every possible effort to provide employment opportunities for ex-servicemen and Agniveers."
Special Provisions for Families of Martyrs and Brave Soldiers
The state government has also significantly increased the ex-gratia amount for the families of martyrs. Now, families of martyred soldiers will be provided with ₹50 lakh, while recipients of the Param Vir Chakra will receive ₹1.5 crore. Additionally, one dependent of a martyr has been assured of a government job. To honor the state's military tradition, the Uttarakhand government has completed the construction of the 'Military Dham' in Dehradun as the fifth Dham. This Dham will symbolize the state's valor and sacrifice and will serve to connect future generations with tales of bravery.
