A special assessment camp was organised at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Veerpur, Bihar, for the issuance of Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards to persons with disabilities.
A total of seven persons with disabilities were registered during the camp. The medical team examined all applicants, assessed their disabilities, and completed the required documentation. The process for issuing UDID cards was subsequently initiated.
The UDID card will enable beneficiaries to access various government schemes. Cardholders will receive priority in pension, healthcare, education, and other social security programmes. The card will also serve as a unique identity, reducing the need to present multiple certificates.
Doctors and health workers present at the camp informed attendees about the importance of the UDID card, stating that it provides access to multiple facilities and services for persons with disabilities.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, stating that such camps help those in need. Several individuals who were previously unaware of these schemes came forward to avail themselves of the benefits.
The health department stated that similar camps will be organised in the future to ensure wider coverage. The administration aims to ensure that no eligible individual is deprived of the facility.
