Actress Wamiqa Gabbi, who has gradually built a distinct identity in the Indian film industry, is currently in the spotlight for her new film Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. After a prolonged struggle and recognition through OTT projects, she is increasingly moving into mainstream Bollywood cinema.
Wamiqa Gabbi began her career in Punjabi cinema before gradually moving towards Hindi films and OTT platforms. After initially appearing in smaller roles, she gained wider recognition through the web series Grahan, while projects such as Jubilee and Khufiya further strengthened her position as an actor.
She is now securing opportunities to work alongside actors such as Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana. Wamiqa Gabbi, who at one stage considered leaving the industry, is now enjoying this new phase of her career.

According to her, “Why only cat fights? There are dog fights too. Every kind of fight exists everywhere; it depends on the people you are working with.” She also said the atmosphere on the set of her recent film was positive, with the team spending time together, travelling together and describing the shooting experience as highly enjoyable.
Wamiqa Gabbi also shared her views on growing trolling and unchecked comments on social media. According to her, social media has become an “unregulated platform” where people can write anything without accountability. She said regulation on social media is necessary and that users’ identities should be verified to help curb inappropriate or offensive comments.
In her words, “Today social media has become like a circus, where anyone says anything and there is no accountability.”
Known for serious roles, Wamiqa Gabbi said she now wants to explore comedy more extensively. She described comedy as a new and exciting experience and said there were several moments during shooting when she struggled to control her laughter because of her performance and the atmosphere on set.
According to her, “It is very important to bring out the comedy animal inside me.” Wamiqa Gabbi also said comedy is the most challenging aspect of acting because timing and natural expression play the biggest role.
