Entertainment: The highly anticipated Bollywood film War 2 finally released on August 14, 2025. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR in the lead roles. Despite its large budget and heavy hype, this Yash Raj Films production has proven disappointing for audiences and critics alike. While some viewers may have liked the trailer, the overall film experience has surprised and disappointed almost everyone.
Story Overview
Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) has now become a traitor to the country and does not hesitate to kill anyone for money. He is summoned by an organization called Kali, whose aim is to destroy India. Meanwhile, he meets Vikram (Junior NTR). Whether Vikram is a friend or foe is the main twist for the audience. The story involves saving the country and features two heroes, but the film's execution is so weak that it fails to engage the viewer until the climax.
The story's structure is so inconsistent that scenes jump from Paris to Palika Bazaar abruptly. In one scene, Junior NTR is shot, and in the next, he appears completely fine. The fight scenes and VFX are so poor that they seem to have been created using a mobile app.
Acting and Performance
Hrithik Roshan has done his job well, but he hasn't offered anything new. His role felt limited and safe. Viewers were most disappointed with Junior NTR's performance. His overacting weakens the film experience. He completely fails in front of Hrithik, and his character is not fully utilized.
Kiara Advani looked good, but her screen time was very limited. Veteran actors like Ashutosh Rana and Anil Kapoor were also wrapped up in a short time, which prevented their talent from being properly utilized.
Direction and Writing
The film's direction and story are extremely weak. It is hard to believe that the story was written by Aditya Chopra. Ayan Mukerji's direction was disappointing despite the film's large budget and heavy hype. The story lacks coherence, and the scenes do not seem connected. The quality of the VFX and action sequences felt like a cheap video game. The film has no head or tail, and viewers may feel disappointed and angry after watching it.
