Ahead of Independence Day on August 15th, Punjab Police has tightened security throughout the state. All field units have been placed on high alert, and flag marches have been conducted in the state's 28 police districts. Security Ensured Through Flag Marches and CASO
On the instructions of DGP Gaurav Yadav, flag marches and Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) were conducted simultaneously in all districts of the state, particularly in sensitive areas. Special DGP Arpit Shukla stated that the purpose of these operations is to increase public confidence and prepare to deal with any untoward incidents.
CASO were deployed in crowded places such as railway stations, bus stands, markets, malls, and parks. During this time, more than 1,500 personnel were deployed in 250 teams. Police personnel have also been instructed to be polite and cooperative during search operations.
