Eight Wolves Eliminated in Uttar Pradesh Amidst Human-Wildlife Conflict

Bahraich - In the Kaiserganj range of Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, a forest department team has successfully eliminated another wolf in the past 24 hours during an attempt to free it from a wolf trap.

With this, a total of eight wolves have now been eliminated in the area, as part of an ongoing campaign in light of human-wildlife conflict and rural security concerns.

The forest department team spotted the wolf during a search operation near Birja Pakriya in the Fakharpur area and, after encircling it, shot and killed it. The department’s search and rescue operations have been consistently successful in recent days, providing some relief to villagers. The carcass has been taken into custody and sent to the forest department office for further proceedings.

Bahraich forest officials state that the objective of the campaign is to prevent wolf attacks and ensure the safety of villagers. Following incidents of wolf attacks this year, the administration launched an intensified campaign and surveillance operation. The situation is still being monitored, and necessary steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

This campaign is being conducted in coordination between local people and the forest department, with the continuous use of drones, patrolling, and search techniques. Officials say that vigilance will continue and all measures will be taken to keep people safe.
