Sultanpur, December 31, 2025: The main accused in the brutal murder of a teenage girl in the Sultanpur district has been arrested by police following an encounter. During the operation near the crime scene, the accused sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while being apprehended and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Police stated that special teams were actively searching for the accused, and he was apprehended following intelligence received, during a cordon and search operation near Dhanjai Mor. A case has been registered against the accused under serious sections, including murder, and interrogation is currently underway.
This arrest in the district comes after the incident, during which evidence found at the scene helped police identify the accused. Officials are sending a message to residents to restore a sense of security and to remain vigilant in dealing with such serious crimes.
Police say the search for other absconding accomplices is ongoing and they will be arrested soon. Meanwhile, the accused is undergoing treatment in the hospital and further legal proceedings are underway.
