The company said the project took more than a year to complete.
The updated app includes improved scrolling, faster loading speeds and a more reliable notification system. X has also redesigned the interface to simplify navigation. A new bottom navigation dock has been introduced, providing an experience similar to the iOS version of the app. In addition, a dedicated X Chat button has been added to the bottom-right corner, making chat access more convenient.
The company said these changes are intended to deliver a smoother and faster experience for Android users, particularly those who use the app regularly for extended periods.
With the update, users can pin their preferred topics, including football, the stock market, politics, sports and other interests, to create custom timelines. The traditional "For You" and "Following" timelines will continue to be available, allowing users to choose how they view content.
The company said development of the new app remains ongoing and encouraged users to share feedback and bug reports to help improve the experience. Upcoming updates are expected to include better optimization for older Android devices, the ability to host Spaces, improvements to video playback and an in-app video editor. The company said features such as Cashtags and custom timelines are already available in the new version.
