Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Yash Dayal has once again found himself embroiled in serious controversy. A young woman in Jaipur has filed a case against him under the rape and POCSO Act.
Yash Dayal: Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has once again landed in controversy. He has been accused of serious sexual exploitation in Jaipur, Rajasthan. According to the allegations, he sexually assaulted a minor girl for two years under the pretext of helping her build a career in cricket. Jaipur police have registered an FIR against Yash Dayal under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the IPC based on the girl's complaint.
What is the whole matter?
A young woman from Jaipur has alleged that she met Yash Dayal during a cricket-related program. At that time, she was a minor and interested in pursuing a career in cricket. The girl claims that Yash won her trust, emotionally blackmailed her, and had physical relations with her for two years.
Furthermore, the young woman also says that when Yash came to Jaipur for an IPL 2025 match, he called her to a hotel and raped her.
FIR registered under POCSO Act
According to the victim, she was a minor when their relationship began. Based on this, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act, as this law is designed to prevent sexual offenses against children. Jaipur police have informed the media that in view of the seriousness of the matter, the investigation has been expedited and all necessary legal procedures are being followed.
This is not the first time that Yash Dayal has been accused of such offenses. Earlier, a girl in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, had accused him of sexual exploitation and fraud under the pretext of marriage. In that case, the victim had posted on social media and demanded justice from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The victim had also claimed that she had been in a relationship with Yash Dayal for five years and that the cricketer had not only had relations with her but also introduced her to his family. But when it came to marriage, he started procrastinating.
Victim's post went viral on social media
In the Ghaziabad case, the victim had also shared her pictures with Yash Dayal on social media. Her allegation was that Yash had mentally and physically abused her and threatened her when she protested. However, Yash Dayal was later granted relief by the Allahabad High Court in that case. Yash Dayal performed well while playing for the Uttar Pradesh domestic cricket team and then debuted in the IPL for Gujarat Titans. In 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore included him in their team, where he contributed in some important matches.
However, due to personal disputes, his image is now being affected. The BCCI and RCB have not yet issued any official reaction on this latest matter, but since the matter is related to the POCSO Act, serious steps are expected to be taken soon.
