Sports News: The first match of the second day of the Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025) was a thrilling encounter, with Central Delhi Kings defeating North Delhi Strikers by 8 wickets. The match took place on August 3rd at the historic Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The hero of the match was young batsman Yash Dhull, who scored the season's first century, leading his team to victory.

Yash Dhull's Blistering Century

Chasing a target of 175, Central Delhi Kings got off to an aggressive start. Opening batsman Yash Dhull thrashed the opposition bowlers, completing his century in just 55 balls. He hit a total of 15 boundaries (8 fours and 7 sixes) in his innings. Yash Dhull scored 101 runs off 56 balls, batting at a strike rate of 180.36, giving the opposition no chance.

Thanks to his explosive batting, Central Delhi Kings scored 177 runs in just 17.3 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. Apart from Yash, Yugal Saini also made a useful contribution, scoring 36 runs off 24 balls. Meanwhile, captain Jonty Sidhu returned unbeaten on 23 runs off 19 balls. Kuldeep Yadav took both wickets for North Delhi Strikers, but the other bowlers looked scattered.

North Delhi Strikers' Innings Was Average

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, North Delhi Strikers had a disappointing start. Opener Vaibhav Kandpal was dismissed without scoring. However, Sarthak Ranjan and Arnav Bagga then steadied the innings, putting on a crucial 123-run partnership for the second wicket. Sarthak Ranjan scored 82 runs off 60 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Arnav Bagga smashed 67 runs off 43 balls. Bagga's innings included 4 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Harshit Rana flopped with the bat in this match and returned to the pavilion after scoring just 7 runs.

The team scored 174 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, which was considered a competitive score on this pitch. However, Yash Dhull's storm proved this score to be insignificant.

Central Delhi's Bowling Showed Balance

Central Delhi Kings' bowling was also impressive. Mani Grewal and Gavinsh Khurana took 2 wickets each. Apart from this, Simarjeet Singh and Tejas took one wicket each and curbed the run rate of North Delhi. Due to their controlled bowling, North Delhi could not score runs rapidly in the final overs.

After this match, Yash Dhull has become the most talked about batsman of DPL 2025 so far. He not only scored the first century of the season, but also played an important role in strengthening his team's position at the top of the points table.
