Yash-Starrer “Toxic” Release Postponed, Director Geetu Mohandas Confirms Film Will Not Arrive on March 19

Yash-Starrer “Toxic” Release Postponed, Director Geetu Mohandas Confirms Film Will Not Arrive on March 19

Director Geetu Mohandas has announced that the release of the Yash-starrer “Toxic” has been postponed. The filmmaker confirmed through a social media post that the film will no longer release on March 19 as previously scheduled.

The upcoming film, starring Yash, had earlier been slated for a theatrical release on March 19. However, the release has now been deferred. Geetu Mohandas confirmed the development through an official announcement shared on social media. The makers stated that a new release date for the film will be announced soon.

KVN Productions, the banner associated with the film’s production, shared an official statement on Instagram regarding the decision. According to the statement, “Toxic” has been developed with both Indian and international audiences in mind.

The production house said the decision to postpone the release was taken in view of recent global developments and the ongoing tensions in the Middle East region. The statement added that releasing the film globally in the current uncertain environment would not be commercially appropriate.

“Toxic” had originally been scheduled to release on the same date as “Dhurandhar 2,” leading to discussions in trade circles about a potential box office clash between the two films. With the postponement of “Toxic,” the direct clash between the two titles will no longer occur.

Release timing is considered a significant factor for large-budget films in the industry, as simultaneous releases can affect the box office performance of both titles.

“Toxic” is described as one of the most ambitious projects in Yash’s career. Following the international success of the KGF franchise, films featuring the actor have been positioned for wider international releases. The makers stated that the film’s scale and production values make it important to present it across a broad global market. In situations where uncertainty affects key overseas territories, postponing the release is considered a more commercially viable option.
