The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has taken significant action regarding Diljit Dosanjh's upcoming film, 'Sardar Ji 3'. The organization has formally requested the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to withhold the film's release approval.
Entertainment: Diljit Dosanjh's highly anticipated film, 'Sardar Ji 3', has become embroiled in a major controversy. Even before its release, the film faces widespread opposition due to the presence of Pakistani actors. While fans eagerly await the trailer and music, FWICE and other organizations are demanding the film's release in India be halted.
Demand to Halt Film Certification
FWICE has written to the CBFC, appealing against the film's certification. The organization argues that the film's casting of Pakistani actors—Hania Amir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela—violates recent Indian government directives.
In its letter to CBFC chairman Prasun Joshi, FWICE stated that the film contravenes the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's directive prohibiting collaboration with Pakistani content and artists. Therefore, the CBFC should prioritize national interests before certifying the film.
Political and Social Organizations Join the Protest
The BJP Chitrapat Kamgar Aghadi has also joined the protest. In a statement, the organization condemned the inclusion of Pakistani actors, deeming it an affront to national dignity. They stated: "This is not merely a political or cinematic issue; it concerns the nation's sentiment. We bly oppose the association of any Pakistani artist with Indian cinema."
This controversy arises against the backdrop of a tragic incident where, on April 22, 2025, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists attacked innocent civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, resulting in the death of 26 people, including a Nepali citizen.
This attack triggered widespread anger and grief across the nation. In retaliation, the government launched a major military operation targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. Consequently, a strict advisory was issued to OTT platforms, streaming services, and media agencies to immediately remove any Pakistani content from their platforms.
