Despite crude oil prices fluctuating between $70 and $74 per barrel, oil companies have not increased petrol and diesel rates.
Petrol-Diesel Price: International crude oil prices continue to fluctuate. Currently, crude oil prices remain between $70 and $74 per barrel. However, oil companies have provided relief by maintaining the petrol and diesel prices unchanged for March 30, 2025.
Crude Oil Situation in the Futures Market
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, the April delivery contract for crude oil fell by ₹10 to ₹5,985 per barrel. This decline was observed due to reduced trading activity. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil is trading at $69.88 per barrel, and Brent crude is trading at $73.99 per barrel.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Stable in Major Cities
Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged in major cities across the country. Fuel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and other cities have remained stable.
Price Reduction Last Year
On March 15, 2024, the Indian government reduced petrol and diesel prices by ₹2 per liter. This change was implemented in view of the Lok Sabha elections. Since then, there have been no significant increases or decreases in petrol and diesel prices.
Oil Companies Determine Daily Prices
Indian Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) such as Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, and Bharat Petroleum determine petrol and diesel prices daily and update them on their official websites. However, no significant changes have been made to the prices since May 22, 2022.
