Her life was saved in time, and she is currently hospitalized. Doctors have placed her on a ventilator, but her condition is reportedly now stable.

How the incident came to light:

According to the police, the security guard became suspicious when Kalpana Raghavendra's door remained unopened for two days. The guard informed the neighbors, and subsequently, the local residents' association reported the matter to the police. When the police arrived at the scene, the door was locked from inside. They broke down the door and found the singer unconscious. She was immediately taken to the hospital.

Hospitalized, condition stable

Initially, Kalpana was taken to a local hospital, but due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to a larger private hospital in Nizamabad. Doctors stated that her condition deteriorated due to an overdose of sleeping pills, but timely medical intervention was initiated. Her condition is now reported to be stable, although she remains on ventilator support.

The exact reason behind Kalpana's suicide attempt is yet to be ascertained. Her husband, Prasad, who was in Chennai at the time of the incident, has arrived at the hospital, and the police are questioning him. The police are investigating the incident from both personal and professional perspectives.

Singing career and achievements

Kalpana Raghavendra is one of the leading playback singers in the South Indian film industry. Her father, T.S. Raghavendra, was also a renowned singer. Starting her singing career at the age of 5, Kalpana has recorded over 1500 songs and performed over 3000 stage shows. In 2010, she won the Malayalam reality show 'Star Singer,' which brought her widespread fame. She has worked with many famous music directors, including A.R. Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja.

Kalpana participated in the first season of the Telugu 'Bigg Boss'. She has also sung hit songs in various languages. Recently, she sang "Kodi Parakkura Kalam" for A.R. Rahman's film 'Maman' and "Telangana Tejham" for Keshav Chandra Ramavat.

Police investigation underway

An official from the KPHB police station stated that the real reason behind the suicide attempt will be clear once the singer recovers. Doctors have indicated that her condition is not critical and she may soon be taken off ventilator support. Many celebrities have visited the hospital to inquire about Kalpana's condition. Renowned singers like Sri Krishna, Sunitha, Geetha Madhuri, and Karunya have prayed for her speedy recovery.
