Explosion at Firecracker Factory in Andhra Pradesh's Anakapalli District Kills 8 Workers

Andhra Pradesh: A powerful explosion at a firecracker factory in Kotavuratla, Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh, resulted in the death of 8 workers and injuries to several others. The blast was so powerful that it was felt several kilometers away. The incident occurred while the factory was operational and workers were engaged in production.

Official Response

Anakapalli Superintendent of Police, Tuhin Sinha, confirmed the incident and stated that rescue operations commenced immediately following the explosion. According to officials, the explosion was so intense that it caused significant damage to the factory building. Eight workers lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries.

Police reported that the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital, with some listed in critical condition. Authorities swiftly assisted in rescue efforts at the site and provided immediate first aid.

Chief Minister Expresses Grief

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased workers and assured them of all possible assistance. Following the incident, he spoke to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Home Minister Anita over the phone to assess the situation.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care and treatment. He also stated that the state government would fully support the families of the victims.

The CM ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. He also instructed officials to ascertain the cause of the accident and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future. Officials informed the Chief Minister that two injured workers were in critical condition and undergoing treatment.
