Bahadurgarh: Police arrested Sachin, alias Dhillu, accused of the murder of Congress worker Himani Narwal, from Mundka in Delhi on Sunday night. Sachin, a resident of Kanonda village in Jhajjar, is a father of two and owns a mobile repair shop in Bahadurgarh. Investigations revealed that Himani and Sachin had initially connected through social media, which led to personal meetings.

Police sources revealed that on February 28, a heated argument erupted between Himani and Sachin over a financial transaction. The argument escalated, leading to Sachin strangling Himani with a mobile charger cable in a fit of rage. He tied her hands before doing so. Himani struggled and scratched Sachin, but she could not escape.

Mobile Location Leads to Arrest

After the murder, Sachin stole Himani's jewelry and laptop, taking her scooter to his shop. Hours later, he returned to Himani's house, changed his blood-stained clothes, and attempted to destroy evidence. He then put the body in a suitcase, took it to the Delhi bypass in an auto-rickshaw, and finally disposed of it in the bushes near Sangpala after boarding a bus.

Following the recovery of Himani's body on March 1, police examined her call details. Two calls were made from Himani's mobile phone, providing a crucial lead for the police. CCTV footage showed Sachin carrying a suitcase. Police tracked his mobile location and ultimately arrested him in Mundka, Delhi.

Family Demands Death Penalty

The police investigation further revealed that Sachin had pawned the jewelry stolen from Himani's house at a finance company for two lakh rupees. Himani's family is demanding the death penalty for the accused. Her mother, Savita, stated that the financial dispute was a false pretext, and Sachin had attempted to mistreat Himani. He murdered her when she resisted. This incident has shocked the entire area, but the absence of any prominent Congress leader at Himani's funeral has angered her family.

Accused's Background and Police Statement

Approximately ten years ago, Sachin had a love marriage with a woman named Jyoti from Uttar Pradesh. His wife had gone to her parents' house two days before the incident. Sachin's family claims they had no contact with him and that he has no criminal record. Police have currently taken Sachin into three-day remand, and a thorough investigation into the incident is underway.
