Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal criticized the Union Budget 2025, stating it fell short of expectations and questioned the Modi government's policies.
Arvind Kejriwal on Union Budget 2025: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed disappointment with the Union Budget 2025. He stated that several of his key demands, particularly those related to halting loan waivers for billionaires and providing relief to the common people, were not included in the budget.
Questions Raised on Billionaire Loan Waivers
Kejriwal wrote on X that the nation's treasury is being spent on waiving loans for a few wealthy billionaires. He had demanded that the budget include a declaration that no billionaire loans would be waived in the future, but this did not happen.
Demand for Relief to the Common People
Kejriwal suggested that the funds saved by avoiding loan waivers be used to provide discounts on middle-class home and vehicle loans, waive farmers' debts, and halve income tax and GST rates. He expressed disappointment at the budget's disregard for these crucial issues.
Sanjay Singh Attacks the Central Government
AAP MP Sanjay Singh also criticized the central government over the budget. He stated that the Aam Aadmi Party had demanded that the loans of capitalists not be waived and that the recovered ₹16 lakh crore be used to reduce tax rates, but no such announcement was made. He alleged that the BJP's policy only benefits capitalists.
