On the second day of the Congress's 84th session in Gujarat, party president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the Modi government at the center. Kharge not only described the government's conduct in Parliament as "autocratic" but also directly accused it of selling off public assets to select industrialists. He warned that if this continues, Modi will one day sell the country itself.

Congress CWC Meeting: The Congress party's 84th session is underway in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, with over 1,700 Congress representatives from across the country participating. On the second day of the session, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge bly criticized the Modi government at the center. He questioned the government's actions during the recently concluded Parliament's budget session, stating that the government acted arbitrarily in Parliament.

Kharge also questioned the role of the Lok Sabha Speaker, alleging that Rahul Gandhi was not given an opportunity to speak, a situation he described as deeply shameful for democracy.

'Monopoly' Replacing Democracy – Kharge

Kharge stated that Parliament has ceased to be a platform for debate and has become a stage for the government's will. He questioned the proceedings of the budget session, pointing out that although Parliament sat until 5 pm, discussions on crucial issues affecting ordinary citizens were not permitted. He also characterized the government's silence on international issues, such as the 26% tariff imposed by the US on India, as a matter of "political convenience."

The Congress president also questioned the Lok Sabha Speaker's role, stating, "A public representative like Rahul Gandhi is not allowed to speak in Parliament. What greater insult to democracy can there be?"

Modi Government Working for Capitalists – Kharge

Kharge accused the center of favoring its close industrialists in every sector, from airports and media to mining. He argued that this policy not only increases economic inequality but also poses a threat to national security. Kharge voiced his opposition to EVMs, stating that while many countries have abandoned them, India uses them as a special technology to benefit only one party. He added that if this continues, the youth of the country will take to the streets demanding ballot papers.

1.5 Million People Have Left the Country, PM Remains Silent

Kharge stated that over 1.5 million young people have gone abroad seeking employment, with many being forcibly returned to India, yet Prime Minister Modi remains silent. He sarcastically remarked on Modi's tenure, saying, "He's been PM for 11 years, and Chief Minister for 13, but has he eradicated poverty?"

He cited an incident of discrimination against a Dalit youth at a temple, stating, "Dalits are also Hindus, yet they are still considered impure. What kind of India are you building?"
