Mehul Choksi, PNB Scam Accused, Arrested in Belgium
Mehul Choksi: Fugitive diamond merchant Mehul Choksi was arrested in Belgium on April 12, 2025. He was accused in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) loan fraud case involving ₹13,000 crore. Following the arrest, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut welcomed the government's initiative and lauded it as a positive step.

Sanjay Raut stated, "Choksi attempted to defraud the nation's economy. Such individuals flee, but the government took the initiative to bring him back and ensure action is taken against him. This is essential for protecting public funds, and the government's move is commendable."
Choksi's Arrest: India's Extradition Request
Choksi was arrested in Belgium based on an extradition request from Indian authorities. He had traveled to Belgium for medical treatment and had been residing in Antigua since 2018. The arrest was made possible through the efforts of the CBI and ED.
Sanjay Raut's Statement on the Nehru Family
Raut, during this time, also praised Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's role in India's independence. He sharply criticized the Gandhi family, stating that assets are being seized in the National Herald case, while individuals like Dawood Ibrahim are being given a clean chit.
