Supreme Court's Landmark Order
The Supreme Court, hearing a bench comprising Justices S.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan, ordered that the bills be deemed approved from the date they were re-introduced in the Assembly. The Court noted that since the Governor had not assented to the bills initially, and they were re-presented, they could not be reserved for the President's consideration.

Earlier, the Supreme Court criticized the Governor's actions, questioning why it took him three years to identify issues with the bills. The Court raised concerns about the Governor's handling of the matter. Among the 10 bills now enacted, a key one amends the rules for appointing Vice-Chancellors of state-run universities. Other bills incorporated significant social and educational reforms in Tamil Nadu.
