Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast for the next 24 hours, predicting the continuation of heatwave conditions in parts of the country.
Temperatures are expected to exceed 42 degrees Celsius, particularly in North India, Central India, and some eastern states. In contrast, South India and the northeastern states may experience some relief with light rain, thunderstorms, and b winds.
Delhi-NCR: Temperatures to Cross 40 Degrees
Delhi and its surrounding areas, including Noida, Gurugram, and Ghaziabad, will experience b sunshine and dry winds today. The maximum daytime temperature is likely to reach 39-40 degrees Celsius. According to weather experts, heatwave-like conditions may develop, potentially causing health problems for the population.
Uttar Pradesh: Heatwave Impact in Western Parts, Relief in Eastern Parts
The maximum temperature in western Uttar Pradesh is expected to be 38-40 degrees Celsius. However, light rain and cloud cover in eastern UP and areas bordering Bihar may provide some relief.
Bihar: Possibility of Thunderstorms and Rain
Districts like Araria, Kishanganj, Supaul, Purnia, Darbhanga, and Madhubani are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature may remain between 34-36 degrees Celsius. People are advised to be cautious of b winds and lightning.
Rajasthan: Scorching Heat, Temperatures Reaching 44 Degrees
The heatwave is at its peak in the western parts of Rajasthan. The maximum temperature in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Bikaner could reach 42-44 degrees Celsius. The meteorological department has warned against venturing outdoors during the afternoon.
Gujarat: Heatwave Ravages Saurashtra and Kutch
The Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat will continue to experience severe heat. Temperatures in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar could reach 40-42 degrees Celsius. The coastal areas may feel slightly less hot due to higher humidity.
Punjab and Haryana: Heatwave Continues
The maximum temperature in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Hisar is likely to remain between 38-41 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is also rising, leading to persistent heat even at night.
Himachal Pradesh: Increasing Heat in Plains
Temperatures in lower areas of Himachal Pradesh, such as Una, Bilaspur, and Kangra, may reach 35-37 degrees Celsius. The weather will remain clear in higher mountainous regions, but warmer than usual.
Maharashtra and Goa: Humid Days, No Rain Expected
Mumbai, the Konkan region, and Goa are also expected to experience temperatures between 36-38 degrees Celsius. Humid heat may cause discomfort. A temperature increase is also anticipated in Vidarbha and Marathwada.
