North India Faces Erratic Weather: Delhi Sizzles, While Other States See Rainfall
Last Updated: 19 hour ago

Weather patterns are changing across North India. While temperatures in Delhi are rapidly rising, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing diverse weather conditions.

Weather Update: North India is experiencing rapidly shifting weather patterns. A period of intense heat has begun, particularly in Delhi, where rising temperatures are increasing the maximum temperature. Air quality has also deteriorated. However, the likelihood of a heatwave in Delhi is low. Conversely, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh are seeing mixed weather conditions. Rainfall in Kota, Rajasthan, has led to a slight temperature drop.

Delhi's Temperature Nears 40°C, Air Quality 'Poor'

Delhi is experiencing the onset of summer heat. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), temperatures are expected to reach 40°C in the coming days, potentially reaching 42°C within the week. However, the weather department has ruled out the possibility of a heatwave.

On Thursday, the capital recorded a minimum temperature of 15.6°C, 3.2°C below average. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 38°C. However, air quality is in the 'poor' category, posing potential health risks to residents.

Rainfall Brings Relief to Rajasthan

Light rainfall has provided respite from the heat in Rajasthan. The Kota division experienced light rain accompanied by thunderstorms. According to the meteorological department, Khanpur (Jhalawar) received the highest rainfall at 2 mm. This change is attributed to a new western disturbance. The rest of the state remains dry.

Slight Relief from Heat in UP, but Temperatures May Rise

Uttar Pradesh is experiencing scorching heat, but the meteorological department has offered some relief. Rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the next 24 hours in several districts, including Kanpur Dehat, Mathura, Hathras, and Etah, accompanied by b winds. However, a temperature increase of 3-5°C is forecast for the state after 48 hours.

Rainfall in Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh

The mountainous state of Uttarakhand is also showing signs of changing weather. Light rain and partly cloudy skies are expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh districts. However, the plains will remain dry. According to weather experts, temperatures may increase by 3-4°C in the next week. Madhya Pradesh has experienced fluctuating weather conditions in recent days. Heavy rain and hailstorms occurred in districts like Chhindwara, Mandsaur, Seoni, and Dindori on Wednesday. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to continue for the next few days, after which another heatwave may follow.

Erratic Weather Leaves People Confused

The fluctuating weather in North India has caused confusion. While Delhi is grappling with intense heat, Madhya Pradesh has experienced a cool-down due to rain and hail. Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh are also experiencing unpredictable weather. Experts believe that these changes are due to western disturbances and local weather activities in North India. The meteorological department is closely monitoring these changes and advising people to remain vigilant.
