UP Warriorz managed only 143 runs in 20 overs, setting a challenging but ultimately achievable target. Gujarat showcased excellent batting, with Gardner, Harleen Deol, and Deandra Dottin playing crucial roles in their comfortable victory.

UP Warriorz's Poor Start

Batting first in the WPL 2025, UP Warriorz scored 143 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Deepti Sharma scored 39 runs off 27 balls, while Uma Chetry contributed 24 and Shweta Sahrawat 16. Other notable contributions came from Alana King (19 runs) and Simran Thakur (15 runs). Kiran Navgire and Vrinda Dinesh played some good shots, but were dismissed cheaply by Deandra Dottin and Ashleigh Gardner.

UP Warriorz had a slow start, reaching 22/2 at the end of the third over. Navgire was LBW to Dottin, while Dinesh was bowled by Gardner. Chetry and Deepti Sharma then tried to steady the innings, but Gujarat's bowlers bowled economically. At the end of the powerplay, UP Warriorz were 41/2. Chasing 144 runs in the WPL 2025, Gujarat Giants displayed a b performance, defeating UP Warriorz by 6 wickets. However, Gujarat had a shaky start, losing Beth Mooney and Dayalan Hemalata for just 2 runs. Laura Wolvaardt and captain Ashleigh Gardner then steadied the innings.

Wolvaardt was dismissed for 22, but Gardner continued her excellent batting, scoring a half-century (52 runs). Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin then played brilliant unbeaten knocks. Their unbeaten partnership of 58 runs sealed Gujarat's victory. Deol scored 34 runs, while Dottin smashed a quickfire 33 off 18 balls, including three fours and two sixes. This was Gujarat's first win in WPL 2025.
