Elon Musk Accuses Ukraine of Major Cyberattack on X

Elon Musk claimed that a large-scale cyberattack on X (formerly Twitter) utilized IP addresses from Ukraine. He suggested the attack might have been orchestrated by a dangerous group or even a nation-state.

New Delhi: On Monday, March 10, 2025, the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) experienced a major cyberattack, causing its servers to crash multiple times. X owner Elon Musk labeled it a deliberate attack and stated that a dangerous group or a country may have been responsible. X services have since been fully restored.

Musk Claims Attack Originated from Ukrainian IP Addresses

Speaking to Fox News, Elon Musk stated, "We don't have all the details on how this attack happened, but Ukrainian IP addresses were used in the cyberattack." However, he also confirmed that X services are now fully operational. Earlier, Musk had expressed concern on X itself, suggesting a large organization or a country might be behind the attack. He wrote, "X experiences cyberattacks daily, but this one was on a massive scale. A thorough investigation is underway."

Recently, Elon Musk made a significant statement regarding Starlink's role in Ukraine. He claimed that shutting down Starlink would completely cripple the Ukrainian frontline. However, he assured that it would not be shut down.

Attack on Zelenskyy, Labeled a Dictator

Elon Musk has repeatedly criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding the Ukraine-Russia war. He labeled Zelenskyy a dictator, claiming he canceled elections out of fear of losing. Musk also accused Zelenskyy of profiting from the deaths of Ukrainian soldiers and alleged that he runs a large-scale corruption network.

Furthermore, Musk mocked Zelenskyy by sharing a 2022 Vogue magazine cover photo featuring Zelenskyy and his wife. Musk commented, "He was doing photoshoots while children were dying on the battlefield." Following these events, it will be interesting to see Ukraine's response to these accusations and the revelations from the investigation into the major cyberattack on X.
