What to Do During Jyeshtha Month?
Pious acts performed during this month, especially service of water, offering food, donating clothes, and giving alms, free a person from many life's obstacles. The main pious acts are:
- Serve Water: Providing water to the thirsty during this month's heat is considered the best service. Setting up a water stand outside the home, distributing buttermilk, sherbet, or water is meritorious.
- Donate Food and Fruits: Feeding the poor and needy is highly meritorious. The distribution of sattu (roasted gram flour), mangoes, jaljeera (a spiced drink), and muskmelon is particularly auspicious.
- Donate Clothes and Umbrellas: Donating clothes, umbrellas, and fans to protect against the heat brings mental and financial peace.
- Observe Fasts and Worship with Charity: Worship Hanumanji every Tuesday. Recite the Shri Ramcharitmanas, Sundarkanda, and Hanuman Chalisa.

- Offering water to the sun is considered very auspicious.
- One-time meals, fasting, and observing brahmacharya (celibacy) purify the mind.
