Madhya Pradesh Government Launches Public Awareness Campaign Against Love Jihad

The increasing cases of Love Jihad in Madhya Pradesh have compelled the government to take proactive measures. Regarding this serious issue, the government is going to run a major public awareness campaign in Bhopal on the special occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Love Jihad: Taking a tough stance on the rising cases of Love Jihad, the Madhya Pradesh government has initiated a comprehensive public awareness campaign. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in Bhopal, the state's Minister of Sports and Cooperatives, Vishwas Kailash Sarang, tied rakhis to women and made them pledge against Love Jihad. Under this campaign, women are not only taking a pledge to fight Love Jihad but are also filling out forms to deal with it, which will help the government take better action on this serious issue.

Door-to-Door Campaign Against Love Jihad in Madhya Pradesh

Love Jihad cases are continuously increasing in Madhya Pradesh, due to which the state government has decided to take to the streets to deal with this serious problem. Thousands of women participated in this special campaign organized on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, where Minister Vishwas Sarang made women take a pledge to protect themselves from Love Jihad and fight against it. During this, women not only tied rakhis but also vowed to fight the legal battle against Love Jihad.

What is Love Jihad and the Situation in Madhya Pradesh?

Love Jihad is a controversial topic in which it is alleged that some organized groups use the deception of love for religious conversion. This issue has become particularly sensitive in Madhya Pradesh, where the Religious Freedom Act came into force on March 27, 2021. Despite this, cases of Love Jihad in the state are not stopping.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly that 283 cases have been registered so far, of which 74 cases are related to minor girls. Most cases have been reported in Indore (58) and Bhopal (33). This indicates that young women who have come to cities for studies or jobs are being targeted more.

What did Minister Vishwas Sarang Say?

Vishwas Sarang urged women to support the government in this fight and make their families and society aware of this problem. He said, our fight is not limited to legal action, but we have to go door-to-door to spread awareness so that no Hindu girl falls into the trap of Love Jihad.

The minister also informed that under this campaign, women are being encouraged to fill out forms so that their complaints can reach the government and quick action can be taken.

Women's Pledge and Awareness

The women who came to tie rakhi appreciated this initiative and said that they stand with the government in this fight. Women are telling how dangerous the cases of Love Jihad have become and why it is necessary to stop it. They pledged that they would also make the people around them aware of this danger.

Even after the implementation of the Religious Freedom Act in Madhya Pradesh, incidents of Love Jihad are continuously increasing. According to the information received from the government, cases of concealing religious identity, trapping young women, and sexually abusing them are mostly seen in urban areas. This problem is not only a social issue but is also legally serious.
