Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has delivered numerous blockbuster films. Recently, he revealed the reasons behind his decision to choose fewer films.

Entertainment Desk: Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, is among the select superstars who prefer to work on only one film every few years, rather than juggling multiple projects simultaneously. Recently, Aamir disclosed the reasons that led him to make this decision.

No Belief in Working on Multiple Films Simultaneously

Aamir Khan is one of those Bollywood superstars who appear in only one or two films in a year. He is renowned for his perfectionism and script choices. In a recent interview, Aamir shared that he had signed many films early in his career, a decision he later regretted.

Why Did He Initially Sign So Many Films?

In a conversation with Javed Akhtar, Aamir revealed that after the super success of his debut film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, he received offers for approximately 400 films. However, at that time, he lacked the discernment to choose the right projects. He stated, "At that time, many actors were doing 30-50 films simultaneously. I also signed 9-10 films, but the directors I had dreamt of working with didn't offer me any roles."

Aamir further explained that when the shooting of these films began, he realized the magnitude of his mistake. He said, "I worked three shifts a day, but I wasn't happy. I would cry at home. I understood that I had jeopardized my career."

Media Labels Him a 'One-Film Wonder'

Some of Aamir Khan's early films like Love Love Love, Avval Number, and Tum Mere Ho flopped badly at the box office. Following this, the media started calling him a 'one-film wonder.' Regarding this, Aamir commented, "The media was right, because my other signed films were even worse. I was stuck in a quagmire, and there seemed to be no way out."

However, learning from this experience, Aamir decided to work only on films whose scripts and directors satisfied him. This is the reason why Aamir Khan, who later delivered blockbusters like Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, 3 Idiots, and Dangal, established a unique identity in the industry.

Currently Producing Lahore 1947

Currently, Aamir Khan is working on his next film, Lahore 1947, as a producer. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta will be seen in the lead roles. According to reports, the film is currently in the editing phase, and Aamir plans to release it in August 2025.

This film is based on the backdrop of the India-Pakistan partition, which occurred in August 1947. Therefore, Aamir wants to release it around Independence Day to better connect with the audience. However, the final release date will be decided after the editing is complete. Aamir Khan's decision proves that with the right choices and patience, one can have a long and successful career in Bollywood.
