Pahalgam Attack: Amidst ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, the BJP launched a scathing attack on senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his recent statement. Following the April 22nd terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Aiyar questioned at a function whether the attack was a consequence of unresolved issues stemming from the partition. This statement prompted the BJP to target the Congress, accusing them of pro-Pakistan sentiments. The BJP bly condemned Aiyar's remarks, characterizing them as a part of a series of deplorable and offensive comments.

BJP Accuses Congress

BJP national spokesperson, Pradeep Bhandari, reacted sharply to Aiyar's comments, stating, "Congress continues to shield the terrorist ecosystem and cannot hide its love for Pakistan." He further asserted that Aiyar's remarks demonstrated Congress's continued refusal to condemn terrorists, echoing previous statements made by Congress leaders Robert Vadra and Siddaramaiah.

Congress Yet to Respond

Following the BJP's accusations, Congress is yet to issue a response. The BJP vehemently opposed Aiyar's statement, portraying it as showing sympathy towards terrorists and Pakistan. The BJP framed this statement as reflective of Congress's political ideology, arguing that the party continues to exhibit leniency towards terrorists.

Pradeep Bhandari Meets Family of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari visited Haryana on Friday and met the family of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was martyred in the Pahalgam attack. Bhandari posted on social media that Pakistan will have to pay a heavy price for this attack. He stated, "We cannot lessen the pain of the family of martyred Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, but Pakistan will have to answer for this."

What did Mani Shankar Aiyar Say?

At a book launch event on Saturday, Mani Shankar Aiyar had questioned, "Are we still suffering the consequences of the unresolved issues of partition?" He raised this question in the context of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, suggesting it might be a result of the partition's unresolved issues.
