A significant political reshuffle has taken place within the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Party supremo Mayawati has removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from the post of National Coordinator.

Lucknow: A major political shake-up has occurred within the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Party supremo Mayawati has removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from his position as National Coordinator. Simultaneously, she clarified that no successor will be declared within the party during her lifetime. Mayawati stated that the party and its movement come before familial relationships.

Major Reshuffle in BSP

Mayawati, reshuffling the party organization, has appointed Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as National Coordinators. This decision is being viewed as a significant shift in BSP's strategy, seen as an attempt to eliminate nepotism within the party. Notably, Mayawati had previously expelled Akash Anand's father-in-law, Ashok Siddhartha, from the party.

Mayawati Declares: 'No Political Successor'

Regarding her decision, Mayawati stated, "I have decided that as long as I am alive, there will be no successor to me in the party. All party workers and leaders are the true successors of the BSP." She added that this decision was made to protect the party and its core ideology.

Mayawati also clarified that her brother Anand Kumar's children will not marry into any political family. She believes that intertwining family relations with politics can negatively impact the party's policies. She mentioned that Ashok Siddhartha caused significant damage to the party, a situation she wishes to avoid repeating.

Mayawati Targets SP and BJP

Following Akash Anand's removal from all party posts—Anand was considered a potential successor to Mayawati—speculation about his political future has intensified. According to party sources, Mayawati aims to rebuild the organization from the ground up, eliminating dependence on any single individual. In her statement, Mayawati also criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

She asserted that both parties are two sides of the same coin and that only the BSP can counter them. Referring to the SP's defeat in the Milkipur Assembly by-election, Mayawati stated that the SP can no longer blame the BSP for its losses. The BSP chief assured party workers that she will continue working for the party until her last breath.

She also directed a review of the party's weaknesses and necessary improvements. She indicated that further significant decisions will be taken to strengthen the organization.
