Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Anandpur Dham Ashram in Madhya Pradesh on the occasion of Vaisakhi 2025 has once again brought this ashram into national headlines. While this is not the first time Anandpur Dham has garnered nationwide attention, PM Modi's presence has elevated its prominence to a new level.

Anandpur Dham Ashram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the renowned Anandpur Dham in Ashoknagar district, Madhya Pradesh, today to celebrate Vaisakhi. This Dham is a spiritual center of the Paramhansa Advaita Mat, where the Prime Minister will meet Sant Mahatama Shabd Premanand Ji and other saints. During this time, he will also learn about the service projects run by the ashram, which include several initiatives related to education, health, and social upliftment. Approximately 20,000 devotees are expected to participate in this grand Vaisakhi fair.

Anandpur Dham is not merely a religious site; it is a confluence of modern amenities and spiritual traditions, located near Isagarh in Ashoknagar district, Madhya Pradesh. The foundation of this vast ashram was laid nearly 95 years ago, and today it has evolved into a self-sufficient spiritual town spread across 1500 bighas of land.

Established in 1930, Now a Spiritual Model City

Established in the 1930s by Guru Swarup Anand Maharaj, this ashram initially began as a small hut. Gradually, it transformed into a large institution, symbolizing the values and teachings of Paramhansa Advaita Mat. Currently, it also houses the samadhi of Paramhansa Advaitanand Ji Maharaj and has become a pilgrimage site for his followers worldwide.

Special Arrangements for PM Modi's Visit

Four temporary helipads have been constructed at the ashram for the Prime Minister's visit. Security arrangements are extremely tight, and the program is entirely private, without any public gatherings or general meetings. Within the ashram are five prominent temples of gurus, surrounded by beautiful lakes. The ashram management provides special vehicle arrangements for devotees visiting these temples. This system is not only organized but also makes the pilgrimage smooth and peaceful.

Its Own Fire Brigade and Private Transport System

The ashram's self-sufficiency is its most significant characteristic. It boasts its own fire brigade, three private bus stands, a vehicle repair workshop, CCTV surveillance, and wide, clean roads. Its cleanliness rivals any modern township. Established in 1954, the ‘Anandpur Dham Trust’ oversees the ashram's assets and social initiatives. The trust also operates schools and hospitals, proving a boon to local villagers and serving as a model for others.

Harmony of Agriculture and Service

The ashram cultivates its own land using organic farming methods. It is a permanent residence for over 1300 sadhus and sadhvis. It is not only a religiously active institution but also a socially and economically active one. Approximately 20,000 devotees are participating in the fair held at the ashram to celebrate the Vaisakhi festival. This event is not just a religious gathering but has also evolved into a large cultural event.
