Shimla: Speculation is rife regarding the appointment of the new president of the Himachal Pradesh BJP (Himachal BJP). Before the election of the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Himachal BJP may get a new president by April 20. Following instructions from the national leadership, election officer Dr. Jitendra Singh will visit the state after April 15 to finalize the new appointment process.
These Leaders Are in the Race
Several veteran leaders are reportedly in the running for the BJP president's post. The current state president, Dr. Rajiv Bindal, Bilaspur Sadar MLA Trilok Jamwal, and Lok Sabha member Dr. Rajiv Bharadwaj are considered the frontrunners. According to party sources, the final decision may fall on one of these three.
Organizational Process Almost Complete in the State
The selection of presidents at the mandal and district levels in Himachal has already been completed. The mandal-level executive committees have also been announced. Now, only the formal announcement of the change in leadership at the state level remains.
Next Election to Be Fought with a New Team
According to party sources, the new team will formulate the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections and lead the election campaign. The BJP's strategy is to select state presidents in 19 states before the national president's election. New presidents have already been appointed in 13 states.
