On Ram Navami, Shri Ramlala in Ayodhya received an elaborate Abhishek (sacred bath) and adornment. A Surya Tilak (solar consecration) was performed at noon, broadcast live to devotees worldwide.
Ram Navami 2025 Ayodhya: Ayodhya is brimming with devotion and jubilation on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami. Grand celebrations are underway in the Ramnagari to mark Lord Shri Ram's birthday. Lakhs of devotees have arrived in Ayodhya from across India and abroad. This year's highlight was the Surya Tilak, where at noon, the sun's rays naturally consecrated Shri Ramlala's forehead.
Surya Tilak: A confluence of science and faith
At precisely noon, the sun's rays illuminated Shri Ramlala's forehead for approximately four minutes. This is known as the 'Surya Tilak'. This entire process is scientifically precise, developed by ISRO scientists. Live broadcasts of this unique spectacle reached millions of devotees worldwide, providing a profound spiritual experience.
Celebrations began with a special Abhishek and adornment
A special Abhishek ceremony for Lord Shri Ram commenced at 9:30 AM, lasting for an hour. This was followed by adornment and Aarti. Fifty-six types of offerings were presented to the deity. At noon, the celebrations marking Shri Ramlala's birth were held. The entire Ram Janmabhoomi complex was elaborately decorated.
Ayodhya's cultural grandeur, a crowd of millions
All major temples in Ayodhya, including the Ram Temple, were adorned with flowers and colorful lights. Special arrangements were made in anticipation of 25 to 30 lakh devotees. Temporary tents, shaded areas, water distribution, and coolers and mats were provided near Hanuman Garhi to provide relief from the heat.
Recitation of 1 lakh Shri Ram Mantras and Ramayana Path
To enhance the spiritual atmosphere, ten learned pandits are chanting one lakh Shri Ram Mantras. A three-hour Havan (fire ritual) is performed daily. Recitation of the Ramcharitmanas and Valmiki Ramayana is taking place at Angad Tila.
Devotional music, celebratory songs, and Ramayana recitations have filled the area with spiritual energy.
LED screens and security arrangements
For the convenience of devotees, LED screens and special mobile LED vans have been deployed throughout Ayodhya, ensuring that everyone can witness this extraordinary event. Gate number 3 has been designated for exit, and the administration has made special arrangements for crowd control.
