Three young men were killed and three others seriously injured in a horrific road accident in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The accident occurred early Tuesday morning near Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College in the Kokar area when a speeding Scorpio collided with a stationary truck.

Ranchi: A tragic road accident took place in the Kokar area of Jharkhand early Tuesday morning. A speeding Scorpio collided with a stationary truck, resulting in the immediate death of three young men and serious injuries to three others. The accident occurred near Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College. The impact was so severe that the Scorpio was completely wrecked.

The deceased were identified as Agni Besra (22), son of BJP leader Basco Besra from Saraikela-Kharsawan; Prithvi Sahadeva (19) from Burudih, Kharsawan; and Surjeet Sinku (20) from Chaibasa. Local authorities and police arrived at the scene and immediately transported the injured to the hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

Accident occurred while returning from a wedding ceremony

According to reports, all the young men were residents of Gamharia area in Jamshedpur and were returning from a wedding ceremony. Agni Besra, along with his friends Prithvi Sahadeva and Surjeet Sinku, were traveling in the Scorpio when their vehicle lost control and collided with the stationary truck. The impact was so forceful that the vehicle was completely destroyed, requiring considerable effort from locals and police to extricate the trapped occupants.

Eyewitnesses said that people rushed to the scene upon hearing the impact and immediately informed the police. Prithvi Sahadeva and Surjeet Sinku died at the scene, while Agni Besra was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Family devastated by tragedy

Agni Besra was the son of Basco Besra, a BJP leader from Saraikela-Kharsawan district, and was pursuing an MBA. This accident has completely shattered the Besra family. Last August, their younger son, Anmol Besra, also died in a road accident. The family is in deep shock after losing their second son within seven months.

Three other young men were also seriously injured in the accident and have been admitted to RIMS Hospital in Ranchi. Doctors report their condition remains critical, and they are undergoing treatment. Relatives of the deceased and injured arrived in Ranchi following the accident, where a somber atmosphere prevails. Preliminary investigations suggest that the Scorpio was traveling at excessive speed, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the stationary truck. A case has been registered, and police are investigating other aspects of the accident.
