Threats from Bangladeshi Student Organizations
Following the March 1st incident at Jadavpur University in Kolkata, three Bangladesh-based student organizations threatened Bratya Basu with dire consequences. These organizations also demanded his resignation. Police sources state that while the names of these organizations haven't been publicly disclosed, they are based in Dhaka.
Increased Security for the Education Minister
Following the appearance of the threatening posters, the Education Minister's security has been significantly heightened. Police fear that members of the Bangladeshi student organizations may attempt to incite left-wing student groups in Kolkata. Serious security measures have been implemented in response to this threat against Minister Bratya Basu.
Background of the JU Incident
Bratya Basu faced protests after attending a meeting at Jadavpur University in Kolkata. Members of the SFI (Students' Federation of India) stopped his car, demanding student union elections. During the incident, vehicles in the Minister's convoy were vandalized, and Basu sustained injuries. Conversely, the SFI alleges that the Minister's car injured several of their members.
