During this extended space stay, she faced numerous challenges, but her spirit remained b. She remained consistently engaged in scientific research, dedicating over 900 hours to various studies.

Two Major Records Set in Space

- Sunita Williams has now spent over 600 days across three space missions.
- She has conducted a total of 62 hours and 9 minutes of spacewalks, the most by any female astronaut.

900 Hours of Research and Significant Contribution to the ISS

During her mission, she accomplished several key tasks, including:

- Piloting the Boeing Starliner, a spacecraft she helped design.
- Participating in over 150 scientific experiments, working on projects ranging from space gardening to water reclamation techniques.
- Cleaning the ISS (International Space Station) and assisting in returning several tons of waste to Earth.

Completing the Mission with Barry Wilmore

Sunita Williams is accompanied on the ISS by fellow astronaut Barry (Butch) Wilmore. They both launched on June 5, 2024, aboard the Boeing Starliner, initially for an 8-day mission, but technical issues extended their stay.

Sunita to Set Another New Record

Upon her return to Earth, she will become the first female astronaut to pilot four different space capsules:

3. Boeing Starliner
4. SpaceX Crew Dragon

Significant Experiment on Space Food

She also conducted significant work on cultivating plants in space. She watered and studied lettuce plants to improve the prospects of growing food in space in the future.
