Maha Kumbh Influencer Harsha Richharia Files Cybercrime Complaint Over AI-Generated Fake Accounts

Harsha Richharia, who gained prominence during the Maha Kumbh Mela, has filed a complaint with the Bhopal Cyber Crime branch. She alleges the creation of numerous fake social media accounts in her name, used for fraudulent activities and scams. Harsha states that since the Kumbh Mela, these fake profiles have proliferated, being used for advertising, soliciting money, and creating objectionable content.

Harsha's complaint further alleges that these fake IDs utilize AI technology to generate obscene videos and images using her likeness. She has reportedly found approximately 55 fake accounts and expresses hope for swift and stringent action against the perpetrators. The police have accepted the complaint and initiated an investigation.

Harsha Threatened Suicide

Harsha Richharia recently issued a suicide threat on Instagram. She claimed that AI-generated fake videos were going viral and that this was part of a conspiracy against her. Harsha believes that some individuals, resentful of her rising popularity, are attempting to defame her. In a video, Harsha expressed her anguish, alleging that people close to her were involved in this conspiracy. She also stated that if she were to commit suicide, she would leave behind the names of everyone who wronged her.

'My Old Videos Are Being Misused'

In an emotional video, Harsha stated that her old videos were being misused. She explained that AI-generated fake videos were going viral on social media, aiming to damage her reputation. Harsha reported receiving 25-30 messages daily for the past few days, informing her about the spread of these fake videos. Despite this, Harsha clearly stated her continued commitment to propagating Sanātana Dharma, even though some seem unable to tolerate her success.

Harsha's Background and Rising Popularity

Harsha Richharia is a resident of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, currently living in Uttarakhand. She attracted significant attention during the Maha Kumbh Mela, sitting in a chariot with ascetics from the Niranjani Akhara. Her Instagram account boasts over 1.8 million followers, reflecting her growing popularity.

Police Action

According to Lakhan Singh, the officer in charge of the Cyber Crime station, Harsha filed the complaint on February 27th, and her statement was recorded on March 2nd. The investigation is underway, with the police team collecting information about the fake IDs. Further action will be taken once IP addresses and other relevant data are obtained. The case has been registered under sections 336(4), 66C, and 66D of the BNS (presumably referring to a relevant Indian penal code).
