Sports News: Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced its new central contracts for the women's team. This year's list includes several notable changes, most significantly the addition of Anneke Bosch. The young all-rounder, winner of the ICC Women's Emerging Cricketer of the Year 2024 award, has been included in a CSA central contract for the first time. Conversely, Lara Goodall and Delmi Tucker have been omitted from the contracts this year.
Anneke Bosch's Strong Entry
Anneke Bosch, who debuted in international cricket in 2024, has impressed with her outstanding batting and bowling performances. She has played two Tests and four ODIs to date, and has also shown b performance in T20 cricket. In 22 T20 Internationals, she has scored 170 runs and taken 5 wickets. Her impressive performances secured her a place in the central contracts.
Lara Goodall and Delmi Tucker have been dropped from the central contracts this year. Both players were part of the central contracts last year, but CSA has opted not to renew their contracts.
Experienced Players Retained
CSA's new list retains several experienced players, including captain Laura Wolvaardt, former captain Sune Luus, all-rounder Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, fast bowler Ayabonga Khaka, and spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba. Interestingly, Marizanne Kapp remains on the list. Despite hinting at retirement last year, CSA has offered her a contract. It is anticipated she may remain with the team until the 2025 ODI World Cup before making any decisions about her future.
