From Player to Coach
Matthew Wade returned to the IPL in 2022 with Gujarat Titans. He played only two matches in the previous season (IPL 2024), scoring just four runs. Following this, the franchise released him before the mega auction. Now, Wade will take on a coaching role. Wade retired from red-ball cricket in March 2023 and announced his retirement from international cricket in October 2024 after playing in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He played a total of 15 IPL matches, scoring 183 runs at an average of 14.64.
