Following India's victories in the T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy, a period of significant change within the team is anticipated. These changes are expected to affect not only the players but also the support staff.

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is preparing to make substantial changes to Team India's extensive support staff. Simultaneously, significant alterations are expected in the men's cricket team's central contracts. A discussion on this matter is anticipated on March 29th between BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia, chief selector Ajit Agarkar, and head coach Gautam Gambhir.

Changes to Support Staff Imminent

Sources suggest that several members of the Indian team's support staff may be reconsidered. This includes, but is not limited to, head coach Gautam Gambhir, bowling coach Morne Morkel, fielding coach T. Dilip, assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate, and Abhishek Nayar, among others. Some of these individuals have been with the team for several years, and under new guidelines, the BCCI may review staff members who have been associated for more than three years.

The BCCI recently concluded a meeting discussing and subsequently releasing the women's team's central contracts. However, no official announcement has yet been made regarding the men's team's new central contracts. It is believed that the board may make significant changes, potentially impacting the future of several senior players.

Crucial Meeting Scheduled for March 29th

Speculation is rife regarding a potential meeting between BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia, Ajit Agarkar, and Gautam Gambhir. While the official status of this meeting remains unconfirmed, serious discussions regarding the team's support staff and player central contracts are expected.

With the IPL 2025 final scheduled for May 25th, the BCCI is expected to finalize these changes beforehand. India's subsequent tour of England in June-July, encompassing five Test matches, necessitates that all decisions regarding team management and contracts are made well in advance.
