Initially trailing 2-4, Dheeraj Bommadevara refused to give up. In a tense five-set match, he made a stunning comeback with confidence and composure, winning the match 6-4 and securing the bronze medal.

The 23-year-old army soldier and talented archer, Dheeraj Bommadevara, showcased his mental fortitude and exceptional composure in the bronze medal match. Despite falling behind 2-4 against Spain's Andres Temino Mediel, he mounted a b comeback, winning the match 6-4. Prior to this, Dheeraj faced a tough challenge in the semi-final, losing 1-7 to Florian Unruh of Germany. Unruh is an Olympic silver medalist and ranked fourth in the world.
Silver in Team Event, Strong Competition from China
Dheeraj, along with Tarundeep Rai and Atanu Das, was part of India's men's recurve team. The trio delivered a b performance, reaching the final, but had to settle for a silver medal after a 1-5 loss to China. India achieved significant success in the compound mixed team event, winning a gold medal with a superb performance. This was India's biggest achievement in the competition.
Bronze for Compound Men's Team
The compound men's team also performed admirably, winning a bronze medal. However, veteran archer Abhishek Verma missed out on a medal, finishing fourth in the individual compound event.
