10-Month-Old Child Abducted After Mother Given Drug-Laced Laddu on Train

A serious incident in Fatehpur has raised concerns over the safety of rail passengers, with renewed warnings about child theft during train journeys. According to information available, a 10-month-old child was abducted after the child’s mother was allegedly given a drug-laced laddu during a train journey.

The woman was travelling with her infant when another woman initiated friendly conversation and offered her a laddu to eat. Shortly after consuming it, the passenger reportedly began feeling dizzy and slipped into a semi-unconscious state. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused fled with the 10-month-old child. When the woman regained consciousness, the child was missing, triggering alarm inside the train.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Railway Police and local police launched an investigation. The victim’s statement was recorded, CCTV footage from the train was examined, and other passengers were questioned. Police sources said that based on technical analysis and mobile location tracking, indications of the child’s presence were found in Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Following the location input, police in the concerned district were alerted and raids are being conducted at suspected locations. The Railway Administration and police have appealed to passengers to remain vigilant, particularly advising women and those travelling with children not to accept food or drinks from strangers.

Police stated that child theft gangs often operate by gaining the trust of passengers and using intoxicating substances to render victims unconscious. Local residents and social organisations have expressed concern over the incident and called for ber security arrangements on trains, including increased surveillance and patrolling on long-distance routes.

Police teams continue efforts to recover the child, with officials stating that the child will be recovered safely and those involved in the incident will be arrested.
